Day tour itinerary:

Bucharest - Peles Castle- Pelisor Castle - Sinaia Monastery - Sinaia Casino - Sinaia Gondola

We start out early in the morning where you will be picked at the hotel.

Our first stop is Peles Castle. This first stop is actually the highlight of the trip!

Peles Castle must be one of the most beautiful castles in Europe. When you enter the gardens you will already surprised to see a wonderful scenery surrounded by the mountains.

As you get close to the Peles Castle you will see a fairytale in front of your eyes.

Towers, carvings, and colourful details all come together in a unique mix. It's like a Disney castle on steroids!

Explore the surroundings in your own pace, enjoy the fresh air and take lots of pictures. Inside the castle you will find that it looks like a museum: Peles Castle is filled with paintings, sculptures and fancy decorative objects from all over Europe.

Each room has a different theme making your visit more intriguing.

Our guide will tell you about how this castle served as a summer home of Romanian royalty and why it became a symbol of the Romanian monarchy.

Next you will visit Pelisor Castle located very near.

Pelișor Castle might be smaller than Peles Castle, but it doesn't mean it has less charm. The numerous chambers, working areas, a chapel, and the famous "Golden Room" are all beautifully decorated and offer stunning views of the surrounding landscape.

Afterwards we are going to visit the beautiful Sinaia Monastery.

The monastery complex consists of two courtyards surrounded by low buildings. The centrepiece is undoubtedly the churches – the "Biserica Veche" (Old Church) and the "Biserica Mare" (Great Church).

Founded in the 17th century, this Romanian Orthodox monastery serves as a spiritual centre and a beautiful example of Romanian religious architecture.

Next is time to visit the mountain resort symbol, Sinaia Casino.

Built in 1908 at the initiative of King Carol I, the Sinaia Casino was once a jewel of Sinaia's social scene.

Although today it isn't a casino anymore it transitioned into a cultural centre.

The casino building itself is a masterpiece. Designed by architect Petre Antonescu, it has a stunning neoclassical style with elegant facades, intricate details, and a spacious interior.

Have a drink or a coffee at the Royal Cafe and explore its grand halls and art galleries.

Now it's time to see this mountain resort from up high! Your next stop will be up high in the mountain.

Take a scenic ride on the Sinaia Gondola and witness breathtaking panoramic views of the Prahova Valley and the surrounding Carpathian Mountains.

The Sinaia Gondola actually consists of two separate sections, allowing you to customise your experience. The first section takes you from the town centre (around 1000 metres altitude) up to Cota 1400 (1400 metres altitude).

The second section of the gondola takes you even further up, all the way to Cota 2000 (2000 metres altitude).

This is the highest cable car in Romania, offering truly stunning mountain panoramas and access to higher altitude hiking trails and winter sports facilities.

The Sinaia Gondola is a great way to add an extra dose of adventure and stunning scenery to your day trip to Sinaia.

After this great experience it's time to walk and soak in the great atmosphere of the great streets of Sinaia, have a drink or enjoy a Romanian cuisine in one of the restaurants before heading back to Bucharest.

Sinaia awaits! Book your day trip today and discover the magic of the Carpathian Pearl.

Important Note:

Dress for mountain weather: Sinaia's mountain climate can be delightful, but remember, weather conditions can change quickly, especially at higher altitudes.

Pack sunglasses and a hat to protect yourself from the sun's rays. An umbrella or light raincoat might also come in handy, especially if rain showers are forecast.

Due to the fact that you are going to take the gondola all the way up to Cota 2000, temperatures will likely be cooler than in the town centre. Consider packing an extra layer!

Take in consideration that Peles and Pelisor Castles are closed on Mondays so we will only visit the gardens.

Also bad weather may not allow us to take a gondola ride.

Important to note:

At the end of the day trip, you can choose to be dropped off in Brasov, or we can let you off at any point along our return route that best suits your plans.
